Legal Transcription

Available USA. Canada

Product:  Legal Word Processor

Product No:  HME081

The company hires typists and word processors throughout the United States and Canada to work as independent contractors from their own homes via the Internet. The company offers to its client base a professional product turned around in a fraction of the time of an in house staff.  We contract with independent legal transcriptionists to complete this work from their home using our software as a "key" to access the available work.

The company typists are qualified legal transcriptionists who contract with us to receive high quality legal transcription work to complete from their own home, on their own schedule. You can apply for the work wholly on-line, and upon approval of your application and the completion of the required testing, you will be given a software which acts as a "key", allowing you to sign into our system and pick up work from our clients, then to upload your finished transcriptions to our computer when completed which will return them to the client.

Do I have to Work Full Time?

The company allows you to decide the total hours you would like to work, as well as your schedule week to week. Once you are under contract, you will be given access to an on-line schedule to work from, specifying the hours you would like to work for a calendar month.

What is the compensation for a typist and how is payment delivered?

The company typists are paid by the words transcribed on work done. Good typists who meet our criteria can generally earn $12-$15 per hour, or more. There are no caps on the amount you can earn, so the faster and more efficiently you can complete the work, the more you can make. Payment is made via check twice a month, shortly after the 1st and the 15th.

How long does it take to apply?

Once you have submitted all of the necessary, Human Resources will take a few days to review your information. Once they have approved your application, they will contact you and ask you to order a foot pedal. When you receive your pedal (which typically takes about a week to be delivered), you will e-mail the office and we will provide you written materials and instructions on how to begin testing.

This testing consists of several short testing jobs, designed to demonstrate your typing skills and your knowledge of legal transcription, and these can be completed at your own pace. These jobs will be reviewed by our staff upon completion to assure that your programs are properly in place and that the quality of your work is satisfactory. All in all, the application process and testing can be completed in 2 weeks or less if you actively work at completing the necessary material.
